Rosa Roca Training Stable – Meet the
Trainer

I’ve been training horses professionally since the age of sixteen. Before starting in the world of Miniature Horses, I specialized in stock horse breeds like Quarter Horses, Paint, Pinto, and Appaloosa. I have started dozens of young horses under saddle, retrained more problem horses than I can remember, and shown at the local and National level in both halter and performance classes from Western Pleasure, Trail, and Showmanship to Reining, Horsemanship, and Pleasure Driving, .
In 1992, I bought my first Miniature Horse and quickly fell in love with the breed. I started a small breeding operation, which led me into showing my own horses and those of close friends. Today, at Rosa Roca Training Stable, I utilize all Natural Training methods on both my own horses and those of the many clients who believe in my humane training methods.
My current training stable is quite small and based at the farm of my lifelong friend Leesa Conley. (That's her boy, Daystar's Just Enuf Chrome, multiple National Top Ten, in the photo above). On her five acres, which also houses her own Daystar Miniatures, I have a large arena, a shady round pen, and a few comfortable, airy stalls. Plans are in the works to tear down the 35 year old barn on my own five acres (only two blocks away) and rebuild it to house up to ten Miniatures or Shetlands. Hopefully, this will happen in the next two years. Meanwhile, I and my training horses are quite happy at Leesa’s.
If you’re in the area, I’d love to meet you! I encourage people to come and watch training sessions and to ask questions. I have nothing to hide and I love to share my training techniques with horse owners or even though who don’t own their own horses yet. I’ll happily explain my Natural Training methods and why they work so effectively with the least possibly amount of stress on both handler and horse.
In addition to my horse training, I'm also a published author. Go to my "Books and DVDs" page to read about my horse training books and my books on Miniature Horses and Shetland Ponies. There's also a 3-part training DVD available. Look on my "Links" page for information about my "Natural Training for the Small Equine" hub, my blog pages, and my other website, Rosa Roca Creations, where I'll show you the crafts and artwork I do in my spare time. And be sure to check out all the articles I have on this website, including "The Red Bag Delivery," "Easy Coat Color Genetics," and lots more!

Here I am at an AMHR show in Ada, Oklahoma showing my mare,
Rosa Roca's Run For The Roses, in Country Pleasure Driving.
